I love writing! As a public relations consultant, I have been capturing stories, announcements and news in words for over 25 years. It has been a natural process for me to move into the field of capturing personal histories.

On a personal note, it occurred to me that large portions of stories and personal history that were shared with us over the years by our parents and grandparents tended to go in one ear and out the other. And now, my 91-year-old mother is the only one left of her generation to tell those stories. I am so grateful that I interviewed her before it was too late. Furthermore, she loved having the chance to tell all the stories of her life again – and I loved discovering things I never knew about her life.

Ever since I can remember, I have been the one to mark special occasions by chronicling the life of a family member or friend in a humourous speech, poem or song. And so began the informal ritual of recording excerpts from people’s lives. That casual pastime has evolved into a passion for the preservation of life stories.

Let me share my passion with your family.

“As the ‘baby’ of the family, I always felt like the underdog. My sisters were taller, stronger, expert teasers and adept ticklers! It wasn’t until they left home that I realized we could actually be friends. Now, I wouldn’t trade our relationship for anything.”
